I know that you think you need that mother’s bracelet, but trust me, you don’t really need it, that’s just your inner shopper whining and complaining to get “more, more, MORE!” Girls, do you know what I’m talking about? Some of us have a weakness for shoes, other for handbags, etc. But if you are a jewelry fanatic, you are the worst kind, because the things that you want to buy are infinitely more expensive. It’s not that you aren’t willing to do nice things for other people – remember than grandma bracelet you bought for your loving Grammie for her 80th birthday? Or that birthstone bracelets that you bought for your sister when she graduated middle school – sure that was a “special occasion”, but let’s get real, I’m sure she would have appreciated a stuffed animal just as much, maybe more.
So next time you are in the store, and that beautiful, shimmery, beaded mother’s bracelet catches your eye, walk quickly in the other direction, and don’t worry, no one will judge you. Besides that, this was a small success for you – and I know how badly you would like to treat yourself to a pair of earrings for resisting, but don’t fall into that trap, because it is a never ending cycle. Instead, for everything you don’t buy; consider donating a penny or a dime to the charity of your choice. If you are like me that would easily add up to $10 dollars a month or more. Go at it and have fun – and SAVE!
